Thinking of a small pinstripe.....color opinions???

I generally don't like pinstripes much. On my last truck (Ram) the charcoal gray was an awesome color but it just needed something. I ran a small dark red 1/4" stripe inside an indented body line that ran down the side. I liked it a lot. It added a splash of color, yet remained subtle.

I've been thinking of doing the same on the eff juan fiddy. There is a perfectly straight indented line that runs along the entire side, just like the Ram had. I played around with Paint real quick and attatched the pics. I think the same dark red would look good. The "4X4" decal on the bed side is silver though, so I also thought of silver to match it. I'm just not so sure how much I like the look of the stripe itself in silver. I threw in a darker gray also, as well as a brighter red.

I think I prefer the red ones, and it would be relatively easy to heat up and remove the silver "4X4" decals and replace them with red ones (either custom or similar factory from another truck) so they would match. The truck is new enough that there shouldn't be any "ghosting" left behind the decal.

Dark Red (maroon)

Red

Gray

Silver

I've been thinking of a pinstripe, too. I never thought of putting one low like that. I am probably going to do a silver reflective stripe. I like the red stripe on your truck. A reflective red stripe would be sweet! I wish I had a blue truck, but red is my second fave, and one can not be as choosy when buying a used truck.

My opinion... If you want stripes go with the big racing stripes on the hood. I never have liked pin stripes to me it would look cheesy. Just my .2 worth.

You asked, so here goes. First, lose the 4x4 sticker and forget the pin stripe. Then do something about they grey on the wheel spokes, either blue to match the truck or black. If you retain the 4x4 sticker, then yes, it needs to match the stripe and the silver would look better with the grey wheel spokes. If you are going to replace wheels, then the red would look good as long as the 4x4 sticker matces the stripe. How is that for an opinion and lots of confusion?

Don't see how, she takes a razor and runs it over my head and burrs it off, 5 minutes at most.

I like subtle stripes myself. On my Smokestone Lariat, we downsized the graphics I have on my Kenworths. We used silver, black, and Arizona beige, they look really slick. I also had the center indention striped in black. It looks subtle and seperates the colors. Most people don't even notice it. Pix in my gallery.

I think the silver would look good up high (like around the handles, etc.)and keep the 4x4. I added the black stripes to my truck shortly after purchasing.
