Black grill guard, chrome step bars?

Would it look really goofy to get a black grill guard for my truck if I have chrome nerf bars? I have a really good deal on a brush guard and think it might look silly. Though with the deal I am getting I guess I could have it painted to match the body.

Heck ya it would look silly. Don't even think about buying one and painting it later...they are much more expensive than the basic black ones. Go with black...unless your one of those chrome guys, then its nearly impossible to make the truck look good.

I have a black GG with chrome nerfs, but they look OK because I have chrome bumpers.

I have a black Ranch Hand guard and Luverne S/S running boards. It doesn't look bad on my Smokestone Lariat. (Atleast I don't think so) I needed a heavy duty guard and the only finish Ranch Hand comes in is black powdercoat. My truck has enough black on it with the splash gaurds, bed caps, ect. that it looks alright. I actually prefer the black look on the front as mine doesn't have chrome bumpers. I haven't seen a chrome grill guard as stout as this one, and it's on there for a reason. Most chrome ones I've seen are more for looks. I did have a chrome guard by Mr. Pickup on my black 2002, and it seemed pretty stout too, just not as good as the Ranch Hand.

On my Dad's F-250 SD, he's got a black Westin GrilleGuard, chrome Bimpres (factory), and chrome nerf bars. It looks nice, so it should look fine for you IF you have chrome bumpers. If you have painted bumpers, it'll look retarted. If it was me (granted, I have painted bumpers), I'd go for Black (GG) and Black(NB's).
