Silverstars in old headlights

I was hesitant to start an entire new thread about this, but does anyone know if the Silverstars will still shine as brightly through my 2000 OEM headlights? They aren't the clear housings like in the new F-150s or in the Lightnings. I want them to shine to their full potential. Do I need to buy some Lightning headlights or will they still be fine?

Thanks.

they still shine pretty bright as long as your housings arent yellowed real bad. mine are really bright. i have them in heads and fogs

They should be fine, I put the Silverstars in, 9007st headlight and 9145st in the fogs, I'm almost positive on the part numbers. They are a bit brighter and much whiter than OEM. A nice upgrade and having the non Lightning lenses is not a big deal, try them in the old ones first. You can also use some 3M plastic cleaner and then plastic polish to really revamp the lenses outer surface, but that's if they are in bad (lots of scratches, hazing etc.) shape.

Thank you that really helped. I just bought the bulbs (9007st is correct) and I'm gonna go install them now. The housings haven't yellowed any, they are near perfect except a few scratches, so I guess it should turn out fine.

Thanks.
