LED tail light problem

I installed LED bulbs in my tails and used those load resistors to stop the fast blinking problem... well it all works good but when the parking lights are on, and i hit the brake, the dont get brighter, they stay the same, i took the resistor off and they work just like they should, but they blink fast... Maybe the resistor I have is too big? Who else has been through this? I dont know much about resistors

I had a similar problem with my motorcycle blinkers. I bought an electric flasher relay to correct the blink rate. It's ~$15 and is a lot easier than doing the math to figure out what resistor to buy. It's hard to tell exactly whats wrong since I don't have the wiring schematics in front of me. But I woulld say to replace the flasher relay with an electrical/mechanical unit instaed of the crappy thermal unit.
