i was looking at an after market grille, you know the chrome bar ones for my 2006 xlt. But some people say that these overlay grilles will make ur engine run hot.. is this true

 

not true on my 05 down here in the Texas heat.

 

The only way I could see it make your engine run hot is if was the solid plate kind, but without flames or stripes cut into it.

 

my grille makes me run hot!!! Cuz its just damn sexxie!!!

 

I have a grill overlay with verticle bars that are pretty close together and I've had no issues with running hot, and I live in Phoenix. The only ones I've heard of that may cause problems are the laser cut overlays. Some with flames, some with skulls. They block too much air flow.
