Herculiner??

Ok I don't really know where else to post this so I guess this seems logical. I have a friend who owns a jeep and he herculined his whole tub (all inside) of the wrangler. I really liked it but I am wondering how hard it will be to do to my truck. I have an 01 F150 2x4 SuperCab w/ regular bed. How many cans would I then get....how messy does it actually get? I know many people pay $300+ to have it professionally done but I was wondering if I could do it myself and save some dough. Thanks a lot!

I don't really know much about herculiner, but I used Gator Guard a similar product and it chips and flakes easily compared to rhino or linex. Try posting this thread in the bedliners forum under the body category, you'll probably get more helpful responses.

I've also heard Herculiner flakes/chips off after a short time.

Don't waste your money!! I have put it in my brothers truck and it looked good for awhile, but get a chip in it and it just gets bigger and bigger. You can get a gallon kit for around $60.

I have an 06 XL, I used a gallon and a half on mine. If you decide to do it yourself make sure you are in a well ventelated area, and that you have plenty of time to do it. Scuff up the bed and roll it on like paint. I don't use the bed for heavy hauling, and now it is covered with an undercover, I plan on applying another gallon in about a year or so (from the initial) just to toughen it up. It will still be cheaper than the others, and I like the DIY stuff. Of course this is just my opinion I could be wrong.
