Best headlight bulbs for a '98 F150?

Good to be back on the forum after a couple years!

The stock headlights are terrible and Silverstars aren't much better in my opinion. Our stock '02 Camry headlights are ten times better, even when I use the fogs on the truck. Any recommendations? I tried some "illegal" 100W/80W that worked great but the wiring showed signs of getting cooked, so I took them out.

Well, Sylvania has come out w/ Silverstar Ultra bulbs, or you could do an HID
conversion, but I would recommend a headlight adjustment before anything. You may want to consider doing a voltage check @ the headlights. If it's over 0.3 volts lower than battery voltage, run new, heavier wire & a relay--that will bring light voltage up to spec.
Are the housings cloudy?
Good luck w/ it!

You might want to consider getting some aftermarket headlights. The Harley Davidson or Lightning styles are popular right now and look pretty good. These units have clear lenses and a nice reflective backing. They look really nice with Silverstars or the "illegal" 100W/80W bulbs (that's what's on mine) or you can try this link: http://www.ford-trucks.com/article/i...r_Brights.html

Thing is the stock heads shine the beam further than clear lensed headlamps, I have OEM SVT Lightning headlamps and noticed they looked much clearer, not goldish like my old headlamps but the old heads had a much greater distance. Even with the Silverstar bulbs that i'm running.
