LT Handle Question

I am on the verge of ordering the LT Handles for my 05 XLT Screw. However, I do have one last question (or two) before I pull the trigger....

I do not have the keypad on my Driver's side door....However, I did have a keypad security card # in my owner's manual.

Does this mean that the keypad option can be easily added to my driver's side door?

Have any others added the handles with the keypad entry, but did not originally have this option?? And did you get the keypad to work correctly??

I understand that I could use the left rear handle on the front door, but then I would loose the option of using my key to unlock the doors.

Any help would be appreciate??? Also, if this has been discussed before I apologize for the repeat...I did a search but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for

My '06 Supercrew didnt come with the Keypad Driver Door Handle, but I too got a Keypad Security Card with a code when I bought my Truck. I bought a replacement Driver Door Handle with the Keypad and Wiring as part of it and lo and behold, when I took the trim panel off, I found the wire connector inside the door for the Keypad. It was already part of the wire harness in the door. I guess Uncle Henry in his infinite wisdom (lol) decided it would be cheaper to just use one wire haness for all the '06's rather than stock two, one with Keyless Entry and one without. I just swapped the handles and plugged the wire quick-connects together and I had an Illuminated Keypad that locks/unlocks my Truck with my Keypad code....I dont see why it would be any different for an '05 than an '06.

I know on my 04 the wiring was there for the keypad(along with the security card # in the owners manual) but it don't work. I am told I need to have it programed by Ford. After 3 phone calls and and one visit, it still doesn't work. It's been over a year now, so I might look in to it again.

Thanks for the info guys....Let's see, it worked for 1 and did not worked for the other. That's 50/50....Now I am still uncertain on whether to tackle this mod.

I have a similar question about the LT handles. I have the keypad on my handles, by switching to LT's with the keeypad will I lose my currnt 5 digit code or will the same one work on the new keypad handle?

fastpartsnetwork.com is popular place among this board to order the LT handles....I have a S-Crew and the quoted price is about $293 plus shipping.

There is a couple of others but I can't remember the sites..Expect to pay between $250 to $300 for a S-Crew

That's kind of my question, too. I have an '04 Scab and would like the LT handles. I have the keyless entry on mine and have only seen one part number for the driver door handle in the catalogue I have been looking at and was not sure if it already had the punchout for the keyless pad.

Any part numbers would be helpful. Thanks, guys. Great info.

Now I could be wrong here, but I believe all the LT handles will have the keypad on them. Can't help you with the part numbers. Have you guys tried calling a Lincoln dealer for them?

They come in the colors that the Lincoln Mark LT trucks do, so if your truck isn't the same color as a Mark LT you'll have to paint them to match yourself. As far as installation, you can do them yourself.
