have them put the 30 right over your stock tint and it will be 2 times as dark..and if all your windows are already tinted stock except your front windows like mine the just ask them to double the 30 up or give you 15 and tint the fronts to match the backs. i dont no just throwin it out there

I have had my rear windows in previous cars at 15% and the fronts at 30% and it looked fine. I think doubling up will look just fine, plus more privacy.

If you are going to tint the front, just make sure you check with your local laws about tint.

ask them if they will do two different shades to make it match, from what they tell me it is the same price no matter what. They are pretty accomodating around here. Good luck.

on the focus i used to have i went something like 15 front and 5 on the three rear. that thing was a biotch at night but it looked cool and kept the heat from the sun out in the summer.
when spring rolls around I am going to match the fronts to the rears or maybe a tad darker since i have a backup camera and a dvd player.

Well i went to the place today and they said that they will put 5% on the back three on top of my existing tint and then 30 on the other 2. Wouldnt that make my back 3 like 3 or 4% and against the law?

There is no limit as to what can be done for the back windows. At least not in california. But it is Illegal to tint the front windows at all. An officer needs to be able to see inside the vehicle for his safety. Although i have had mine done and never had a problem, but it wasn't very dark, just enough to take the glare off.

You can have 30% or 35% on the fronts but the back can be as dark as you want here in AL. Just a head up, it will be hard to see out of the back with 5% over it. That's what I did with my last 2 Explorers. I couldn't see out the back window with sunglasses on in the day. Trying to see anything out the back at night was a joke. Get good at backing up using your side mirrors.

My truck has a light colored interior, so the light reflects a little more from the windshield and through the side windows. It kind of makes the tint appear lighter than it is.. Plus the rest of the truck is black as well.. I had a white truck with 15% all around and it seemed to have a "darker" appearance.. I had my rear supercab doors and rear window tinted either 15 or 20%.. I am pretty sure it was 15%.. Then my front two doors and a brow done in 5%. The front and rear windows match. I can see fine, but everyone else that rides in my truck at night says they can't see anything out the back..

Here are some really bright daylight pictures of it...
