Rollpan with hidden hitch
Does anyone have any personal experience with a rollpan with a hidden hitch? I understand that you can have a license plate flip kit, which allows the plate to flip down exposing the hidden hitch receiver. Does anyone have any pics of this? I think it would look awesome while allowing you to still tow. I'm just trying to make my truck look a little more like a street performance truck RKR (Roush King Ranch). I have been thinking of this hybrid F150 for awhile. Any thoughts?
Yeah that would look pretty good on your truck. On the down side though, I think it's gonna be a lot of custom fab work. I have a buddy with a Hemi Ram and he's got the tailgate shaved, a roll pan, and a custom hitch that was cut and welded to the frame to get it behind the roll pan. I am in the process of shaving my '97, the only badge left on the truck is the little blue oval in the corner of the tailgate. I think there are some pans out there that'll fit your truck, but to get the hitch behind it it's a lot of custom work. As for the lincense plate flip kit, they work, but sometimes they are a hassle when your plugging in your ball. Yes, it will look cool but I personally hate the tailgates on the new f150s, so my personal opinion is get rid of everything on the tailgate, and have a good body guy flip the handle for you. If you decide to go through with it, plan on spending money, and time looking for a good custom fabricator, and update your gallery with pics when your done.
hitch
you can get the roll pan and hitch from summit racing. The hitch is suppose to just bolt up like the stock one. I got my roll pan from them but I have not ordered my hitch yet. For my 01 Super Crew the hitch is 145 and that is the cheapest I have found. The roll pans they sell are made by street scene and shipping is only 10.00 a lot cheaper than anywhere else I found .
