I don't have a fiberglass cover, but do have an Undercover which will give you an idea.

Why would you want a bed cap? May as well have bought an SUV. Get a tonneaucover you can easily take off. That would look good on your truck

The covers and caps look nice. And unlike an SUV they are removable. The flush mounted fiberglass provides muh more durability than a folding/fabric cover. Not to mention more security. If I could afford one I would get an A.R.E. I saw some other post and they look awesome. There are also some very nice looking caps(LEER/ARE..) that look great. They Do NOT look like an SUV in my opinion. But opinions are like a holes, everyone has one

Ahhhhh, you don't want really want a Cap do ya? Might as well buy an Expedition or a Yukon. I have the UnderCover tonneaucover on my 02 Screw and it is far the best investment I have made for my truck. Easy on, easy off when needed and strong as hell. Stand on it all the time to wash my roof of the truck and I weigh around an 1/8 of a ton. 250lb that is

I have pictures in my gallery of the UnderCover tonneau.

Honestly, for myself after having hard tonneaus and caps, on my next truck, If I get anything it will be either sectional like a fold-a-cover or it will be a cap. In all the years I have had pickups, 28 so far, I have never had to remove a cap to haul something. Can't say that about a tonneau. And I have used my truck bed for camping, again something I can't do with a tonneau. Yes a tonneau looks a little better, although painted the same color, caps look quite good, but having to remove and store it is a pain.

Keith460... Your hard tonneau cover does look nice. I'm sure it fits your needs but it's just not practical for the things I use my truck for. I have an four-wheeler(ATV Honda recon) that fits in the bed of my truck(With the cap)I do let a little air out of the ATV tires but thats it. I do not carry refrigerators or basket ball goals around so my cap works for me. Oh yeah, can you load and lock an ATV under your cover? Or do you need to remove it to carry those type items? I also haul bales of hay (ten), dirt, gravel and lumber without removing my cap. I have had one for many years on numerous trucks and the functionality and saftey fits my needs. As for getting the SUV, my family does have an expedition that we utilize for family functions. BoB

Reasons for cap

I have two large breed dogs, and really don't want them inside the cab of the truck (they get extremely muddy) I just don't know if I want to sacrifice the look for the functionality of a cap. I also want to put in a bed rug. I know it would be almost imposible to get the dogs under the bed cover. I've had tonneau covers on my other trucks but after time they crack and are a hassle to roll up to haul anything. I don't know, i'm at a real impass...

I have to agree that caps don't look all that great but they are extemely usefull.

If you intend to use your truck for work then I would strongly suggest a cap. I've had lots of caps and one fiberglass cover. I will never get another fiberglass cover. They look the nicest of all the options but are the most useless. It is very difficult to remove them and impossible to store them anywhere. Not to mention they are heavy.

I've used my cap for moving, camping, hauling construction materials etc... A very useful item if you can get past the idea that your truck will change in looks.
