FX2 Grill Question????

Hey all,

I'm about to order a new FX2 grill for my '06 FX4. My question is to any of you who have replaced your grill with an FX2 is? Does the grill and surround come seperatly or is the grill already snapped into the surround? The clips on the honeycomb style grills as well as the "H" bar style grill look like a real pain to unclip without breakig them. Since the grill and surround on the FX2 grills are paint to match, I was wondering how they are shipped? I'd hate to have unclip the grill in order to paint it and then break a clip! Any information tha any of you can provide would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!!!

HVFX4

P.S.

Anyone who's looking for a honeycomb grill, PM me or check out my post in the classified section.

hivoltagefx4,
Mine came seperate, but in the same box. Unclipping the stock surround isn't that bad, just take your time. I didn't want to wait and have the surround colormatched so I just swapped it.

Pics in gallery.

Answers:

1) I've seen them for about $125 to $150
2) Yes, you can get it from your dealer, but be prepared to shell out some big $$$
3) The chrome grill you are most likely thinking of is the Roush Chrome Grill
4) Install is easy!! About 10 to 15 minutes. It's only a few screws

As Matt said both the grill and surround come in the same box. They are not snapped together and are in gray primer. Blue oval not included! The one from my H Bar grill was to big (9") you need a 7" oval. PN-SF9Z-8213-AA.

Here's mine after I painted the grill matte black and had the surround painted to match the truck. I then used a heat gun to slightly heat the clips to ease snapping them together. Worked great.
