Lightbulb Add ons for my Truck

Hey All,
I am new to this forum so glad to be here. I have saved up a good deal of cash to start doing mods to my truck. I have a 1998 Ford F-150 STX. I bought the truck this fall with 100,000 miles, but the thing is mint. Its black with maroon interior, kinda weird. It came with FX4 stickers on the rear where the old STX blue stickers used to be. It also came with a flame background on the gauges, and instead of installing over the black background, the old owner actually peeled it off. So far all I have done is buy a cheap brush gaurd for the front. Heres what I plan to do.....

btw its a 4.2 2 wheel drive, prolly knew that already from the model

1. White background on the gauges to replace crappy flames
2. Black stepbars on either side
3. Rear windowscape with Ford emblem in the middle
4. Imco Extreme exhaust
5. Gas strut one piece tonneau cover

I just ordered a set of Pirelli Scorpion ATRs from tire rack, they were the #1 ranked tire for light truck. I will let you know how they are if anyone is interested.

If anyone has any ideas of what else I could do to my truck, please let me know Im always open to some cool ideas

New wheels would improve the look greatly.

Yeah I told you. The last guy who had it put in the CD player and the white backgrounds on not only the AC panel but also the Flame background as well. Give me some ideas for the interior as well as the exterior, it needs some help pretty bad.

Sounds good, Upgrade headlights, taillights, grill, wheels, maybe a nice pinstripe, if its a single cab stepside make it into a Lightning maybe. But FX4 stickers on a 2wd, hmm thats a new one. Welcome to the site!

From your pics it appears to be installed correctly. What do you mean he peeled it off?

I agree that it looks funny, i havent been a fan of cheap looking flamed gauges. Heres an idea ill share with you. and it would be cheap too.

I have my orignal black background gauges. I am going to make a template and get a large enough peice of sheetmetal to make a bezel for them. Then i am going to polish that up.

i love that look and no one makes a chrome or polished bezel for most of the newer ford models.

What I mean is that in the intructions for installing an aftermarket gauge background, you are supposed to place the new background over the stock black background. The guy who had this truck before me, neglected to read those instructions and peeled the factory black background right off the plastic....and then laid down the flame background. So underneath there is just hte lights, theres no other background. And yes, the FX4 background on an STX 2wd is pretty weird....but look at the odd interior, hes done a lot of weird things so far.

Should I keep the grill gaurd or sell it and get new headlights?
