I just took a look @ your gallery....nice job with the mods and really nice choice with the wheels! Truck looks totally different. How do you like your Gibson?

Thanks Mike! I love my mods, I know it isn't the run of the mill grille but I didn't want to be another sheep with the horizontal billet so I went with my "LAND SHARK" theme. The only thing left to do now is install the step bars but that is a whole nother story. The brackets were wrong, the screw holes didn't line up, basically the guy sold me a set for a King Ranch that does not fit mine. He was great and is giving me a full refund but now I'm bummed about not having them on yet. My G/F is only 5 feet tall and she has trouble getting in!

As far as the wheels, I love them, times 10! They actually ride smoother than the stock wheel/tire combo. I went through a few choices on wheels and tires but could not be happier about the outcome. I have had some comments from guys saying I should drop the rear but it doesn't look bad at all in person and I may or may not drop the rear in the future.

I love the Gibson, it was EXACTLY what I was hoping for! I have had flowmasters for 11 years on other vehicles and I was looking for a change. The flows were nice and loud but sometimes too loud when you didn't really need the noise, if you know what I mean. The Gibson growls when you need it but purrrrrrs when you don't, plus it is now possible to have a conversation in the cabin.

cheers,
Brian

BTW, I decided against the pillars when I saw a dark truck in person with them installed. I'll just say that it looked like a "pillarmobile" they stuck out so much!

Brian:
I know what you mean, my wife is 5 foot tall also and she has trouble getting into my rig.....and mine is higher (4x4)! My steps were the first thing I installed after we purchased the truck. I have been thinking about a cat-back exhaust for mine but didn't want real loud. I had been leaning toward the Gibson. Did you have to remove your spare tire? Some sites I've seen say to remove the spare (4x4) if larger than 16 inch. Not sure if the SIDO would fit. If the Gibson is not much louder than stock, then I might go that route.
Also, IMO, I think your truck looks great the way it is! No need to drop the rear.

Mike,
The Gibson dual sport that I have would be a piece of cake to install if I had to do it again today. I had some issues I was unaware of at the time that were very frustrating but it would take me no longer than 45 minutes to take off the old ones and install the new cat back if I did it today knowing what I know. As far as the spare, I have the side exit as you know so there was no issue what so ever with the spare. I know we have different model years but I can't see how that would be an issue. In fact I am looking to install a full sized spare to match my wheels in case of a flat. The step was the first thing I purchased but it seems like I am having more trouble with that than I could have imagined. Thanks for the comments on my set-up, I know you'll love the Gibson if you decide to go that way. Like I said it was exactly what I had hoped it would be. Let me know if you need any help tracking one down or installation info. I got mine for $340 DLVD.

Thanks Brian. I had read your post regarding the steps and the brackets that don't fit. Thats cool that the guy will refund your money but sucks that you don't have the correct brackets to install the steps.
I'm pretty sure the Gibson split rear (out the back) won't fit my truck with my class 4 hitch. I would get the same one you did b/c I don't like the exhaust on either side of the rear.
