Replacement Antennas?

Anyone replaced their factory antenna with a lower profile "euro style" antenna? If so, did you lose any reception? Is there one that you recommend?

I put a shorter 15" black one from JC Whitney on my truck this summer because I was tired of it dragging in and out of my garage. Didn't loose a thing as far as reception goes and where I live........... radio stations are far and few between.

Do you want it to show or not?

You could get one of those shark fin style antennas and get it painted like you want it. Find the antenna cable going to the stock location and run that wire to where you mount the other.

For not showing, I would think you could find a hollow area in the door frame or or rear cab area.

What about a retractable? The mount could be customized to your liking. Another idea would be to take the headliner down, and mount a eurostyle between the liner and roof.

hope it helps, for whatever its worth

When I shaved my cobra antenna, I just purchased a cheap antenna assembly and ran it horizontal behind my radio in my dash...

Worked great...

Also I have a 15" short Fattie antenna, and I haven't noticed anything as far as reception goes...
