i have an 05 stx 4x4 and want to get rid of that bar style grill. i was looking at a few streetscene speed grills and the style i like is the honeycomb one. is it possible to remove the bar style grill and put the one piece honeycomb insert that i want in without too much difficulty? i plan on going to a dealership later today and wanted to hear what you guys had to say before i did. thanks in advance

 

From what I've read here and in looking at the grill on my 06, it's just held into the grill surround by a series of plastic tabs. Getting the bar style grill out should just be a matter of releasing the tabs with a small screwdriver and it comes out in one piece. Just be careful doing it, because the tabs break easy if you get in a hurry. Someone else will have to help you out with how the Streetscene grills install. I've not worked with one myself.

Kinda ironic you posted this now, since I have the OEM honeycomb grill (XLT version) on my 06 I got last week and I want to swap it for an OEM bar style grill. The bar style appeals to me for some reason. If you end up installing a new grill and want to get rid of your old one or swap it for mine, email me. Good luck.
