Hey Matt

www.automotivelightingusa.com

They have headlight bulbs for your F150. I have the APC brand, 4000 Kelvin
rating, bulbs in my 03 F150. The higher the Kelvin rating, the brighter it
is. They do have a bluish "tint" to them. I also have some H10 bulbs for the
factory fog lights. They are 4300 Kelvin and also have a blue tint to them.
The headlight bulbs are 9007's. Sylvania Silverstars are supposed to be the
best.......but not cheap.

Hope this helps.

There is a new silverstar bulb callef ultra 20% to 30
% brighter than regular silverstars, but $$$$ 49.00 per bulb.

Kelvin is the unit of measure for color temperature, it really has no correlation to the brightness of a bulb which is measured in lumens.

Color temperature is basically the comparison of the light emitted by the lamp to the color of a black object heated to a given temperature, i.e. 5000K refers to the color of a black object heated to 5000 deg.

The spectrum goes from red to blue to white basically, so a 5000K bulbs up to about 6500 is generally going to have a white or white/blue cast.

Ihad silverstars on my 02 and I thought they worked great, especially in the rain and snow. Be careful if you use xenon type bulbs the temp will be to high for the stock connector and melt it. I know cause I did it to mine and to replace the connectors due to heat damage. Just my 2 cents.

I went with the silverstar. It is better than the factory bulb as far as looks, but doesn't help much with the lighting.
