My truck is 13 inches higher than stock and I'm looking for some step bars that will actually provide a good step -- as in they'll extend well below the body because I have seen a lot that only come down an inch or so from the body. What bars are recommended?

 

I've seen some electric fold down steps, that might be what you need for a truck your size. When the door opens the step swings down, when the door closes the step swings back up. I saw them on Extreme 4x4 on Spike one day, but I can't remember the name of them. Maybe someone else knows the name.

 

I'm just looking for the regular tubular step bars, but thanks, though.

If you guys with step bars could please let me know how far from the body your bars are and what brand that would be great.

You are going to be pretty limited in your choices. All the step bars I have seen mount right under the body. All the different step bars mount the same way. There are no "regular tubular step bars" that "extend way below the body" that I have ever seen.
