I just bought some harley headlights to replace the factory set in my 2002 scab. When I pulled my old lights, I noticed that the adjusters on the back of the light fit differently.

In my old set, there is just a plastic clip that fits through a hole. The new set does not have the hole for the clip & it instead looks like the adjusters may have been bolted on??? Does anyone know how these things attach or at least have a pic of the back of a headlight to show me how to attach these things...

 

Let me rephrase this into english rather than gibberish...

On the HD headlights, how are the adjustment pins held to the headlight assembly?

 

Never mind. I figured it out, to anyone interested who finds this thread later, just know that if you plan on switching your stock headlights for harleys (97-03)...

1. Headlight adjustment pins do not snap on, but rather bolt to the headlight assembly. You'll need washers & #8 screws for this.

2. The actual light bulb uses a different style of plastic retainer in the harley lights. Be sure whoever sells you the lights sends you the bulb retainer as well.

Hopefully this will save somebody some time, don't rip your old lights out only to find you have to take a trip to the store for screws & the dealer for a retainer.

 

I bought the lightning lights, (true Visteons) and the adjusters were all the same as the factory ones on my 03, the lights i believe were from an 01.
But i had to spend 17 bucks to get the retainer rings.
