It can also be used if you pissed him off and he decided to give you a fine instead of a warning. I haven't seen any county sheriff's dept. or local police dept. use that code on window tint for some reason it's a chippy thing. No offense to my brother's on the highway of course just not something I see as a big problem.
Does anyone know, if i am cited again for tint, will the fine be increased????

He even walked away from my truck and said, "later bro, be safe."

Question for Roushlimited,
Is it possible to take something like this to court and hopes of asking the judge for it to be reduced/changed to a correctable violation? If so, is the probability of something like that actually happening worth the efforts?
Oh and i totally agree with you about tint being a lifesaver. I live and work in an area where summer temps are above 100 for a lot of July and August. During those months it sure does feel great to get into my truck with the A/C on and the windows tinted.
Roushlimited thanks for the advice and insite. I really respect and appreciate officers like you who differentiate the difference between the letter of the law and the spirit of the law.

In response to your question it is something that you can bring to court, there should be a date on the bottom of your ticket right above or below your signature and if your willing to take a few hours away from work it might be worth your while. Depending on the judge they very well might change it to a correctable violation. The judge might see that you have taken the time out of your busy schedule to plead your case. If I were you I would tell the judge that you tinted the windows of your vehicle because of the extreme temperatures and that you weren't versed on the laws against tinting and would not have done so if you were.
Get my drift... I say you might have a very good chance of having it changed. Good luck and let me know how it goes.
