Blue lights are illegal in most states. I'd suggest going with Sylvania Silverstars. THey are really bright and white. They are as close as you can get to HID lights without going to a true HID system.

Thanks for asking my question. I want to upgrade to an HID system in my truck as well but am unsure of what system is good/better/best, even after doing some research. Can anyone point me/us in the right direction on HID systems, cost is only an issue if we're talking over 500 dollars.

true but if you look at the sellers feedback you can email people and find out how good they are. Its only worth it if you are trying to save money.

I have them in my truck and also in my snowmobile. I really like them. They have a nice blueish tint and whether they really are or not they advertise DOT approved. Also, they are pretty cheap and have a lifetime warranty. Send the bad 1 back, pay for shipping and handling, I think it is about 7.00$, and they send you a brand new pair.

just my 2 cents.

Just a note. I had the aftermarket bulbs in my truck....They melted the harness plugs, then I had a flash fire, I think, inside my headlight...Ruined it...The chrome was peeling off. Ended up buying all new headlights.

I got mine off ebay too. They were cheaper. If you have questions go to the website the have a Q and A page about wattages and everything else. I had matching fog light bulbs too from them, but when 1 went bad they sent me new ones that were a higher h.I.d than they old ones and they aren't as blue. But it still looks sweet.

HAHA, blue lights are for rice burners?? ya ok, I have a lighter blue tint bulbs in my 12 sec. stang. So bring on the rice burners. hahahaha

The best place to buy these (and I know, I have been using them since 1998 and tried all sources) is summitracing or jcwhitney. I believe its summit racing that I always use, and they come with a one year warranty. (shipping is all you pay, and I have had them replace 2) If you're gonna up'em to the 80/100 high power *offroad* bulbs, you'll need the conversion harness (which is about $30) to keep them from frying the wire harnesses. I replaced my harnesses about 3 or 4 times each before I went with the harness kit. Easy to install, well worth it for the bright blue light provided. Go to their web site and buy the blue halogen bulbs, about 8.99 each. Remember to get the 80/100 if you want real bright

I am actually considering swapping to HID from an ebay kit I saw, its $280.
