Question Question on Rollpan install

i got rear ended, and i want to get a rollpan. when i asked the shop doing the work, they said it would take alot more work because it would have to be molded and what not. i was under the impression that you can buy a rollpan, have it painted, and just BOLT IT ON. is this true? or is there alot more work to it than what i think?

Their just tryin to screw ya man. I had the same thing happen to me, i got rear ended and i bought a roll pan, got it painted and i bolted it on in about 20min. Roll pans dont bolt to the factory mounts that the old bumper mounted to though, they bolt to he little piece of metal that is at the end of the bed in between the tailgate and the bumper. You'll probably need to drill a few holes to mount it there, but theres no way you need to have it molded or all that junk their tellin ya. I got my roll pan from Custom Classics, heres the link Custom Classics

Heres a pic of my roll pan before i put it on.

It might help to put some bolts in on the bottom corners of the roll pan to support it also, otherwise it will kinda hang there and when u go over a bump or somehting it will sway back and forth, when you add the bolts it supports it and stops it from swaying.

Hope this helps, Good luck!

Nope, unless u feel like drillin a hole in ur brand new roll pan. I just took my tire and put it into the bed, strapped it down, and got a spare tire cover. Plus i hope u dont plan on towing anythign because you would need to buy a hitch that woud fit through the hole if u wanted to. Sorry it took so long to answer haha
