bud deflector
I removed the bug deflector. I like it better w/o it. Whoever put it on didn't do it right anyways. They used velco tabs and put one part on the hood and the other on the bug deflector.

King James,
Did you ever find something to get that glue off your hood from the velcro? If not, I got just the solution. I use 3-M's liquid polish. It's clearcoat safe. What it is, is a cleaner for newly painted surfaces. You know when you get something painted, you can't put wax on it for 60 to 90 days. It keeps the new paint clean, but has 2% wax in it to give some protection. I removed a buddy's shield 2 weeks ago. He had those rubber stops on the hood. Took the stops off, used the 3-M for the glue. No problem. Just remember, this is a cleaner wax with just 2%. So when done go over it with a good wax to get full protection. Dude, I went over my wifes car with this stuff. Then hit it with the cherry wet wax. Man what a detail job I did on that. Came out great, if I say so myself. Cleans all the contaminents off. Gives you a fresh start. Here's the full description. 3-M Liquid Polish, Clearcoat Safe. It says, A cleaner-polish for use by hand or machine. Part # 051131-05993. You can get this stuff anywhere they sell paint an supplies for body shops.
You got a nice truck dude. Love that blue on the flaresides. Hope this helps for the glue. And if you decide to take it further. Good luck King. Talk to you later.

Just took the bug guard off my 00 HD also. To hard to get under it when washing or waxing truck. Might have put it back on but the attachment screws were flimsy and "wore out" after a removing it a couple of times. Just decided to much hassle, so $90.00 down the drain.

I just booted my dang sheild too. flimsy plastic thing. warped so bad from heat just looked crappy. (and i live in mn). Looks so much cleaner without it anyway.
There was alot of crap stuck in there too!! ill take a few chips to keep stuff from getting stuck and rotting in there.
