Post Snuglid quality question (pic)

I had a Snuglid installed on my truck a few weeks ago. Since that time I have noticed other members lids appear different then the one installed on my truck. Here is the area in question:

<A HREF="http://gladstone.uoregon.edu/~jcraveir/snuglid.jpg" TARGET=_blank> </A>

In the other pictures I have seen the bed lid completely covers the gray bed rail visible in my picture. At first I thought it had something to do with clearence when lifting the cover, but now that I have seen other Snuglids that completely cover the rail I am not so sure. Can anyone provide any info here for me?

Mine looks the same as yours. never have seen one that covered the front of the rails. I think the contour of the corner is done freehand though. Mine is a little different. It has a little more point to it.,,,,98

Thanks Screamer, I knew if I could count on anyone it would be you. Did you just leave it the way it is, or did you trim back the bed rail?

I'm pretty sure the new Snugs for the screw cover the front edge, so I was under the assumption that all f-150's were updated. You can see a Snug on a screw in this forum:
https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/001979.html

When I bought my lid last year I saw that same thing on the Snuglid about not reaching all the way to the front, that's why I bought a ********. Here is mine :

Lightbulb

I just left it the way it was. I've been thinking of trying to dye the rails black, though, and doing the same for the back window frame. Tan and grey?!?,yuck!! LMAO.,,,,,98

My SnugLid fits like the white one above and none of the black/gray trim shows. My friend has a 00 Screw and his fits the same as mine.
I've had several people come up to me in the last several months and ask me about my SnugLid and couldn't get over how well it fit..??

Also have heard that since the Screw has come out SnugLid has been pounded with orders and the quality control has gone down the crapper, this comes from the dealer I bought mine from, which will be 2 years ago in Aug.

So what it looks like to me is that there is something about the standard bed that the cap has to be trimed back, but the Screw and Flareside are fine. I wonder if they have always fit like this, or if something has changed recently?
