Post Truxedo tonneau cover

Has anyone tried the Truxedo tonneau cover? I was wondering what your thoughts are on this product.

Hogan,
I was wondering your thoughts on your truxedo cover. I received a brochure and some samples from them. The material seems to be like a rubberized vinyl. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Angry

BlackLariat,

Physically, the Truxedo looks nice on the bed. On day 1 have had some "situations".
The cover is not working to my expectations, HOWEVER, it has yet to be determined if this is a cover problem or a Ford dealer install problem.
Dealer indicated equipment "looked" warped. Truxedo advises possible install problem.

I am waiting for a fax from Truxedo so we can review each part together..

To their benefit, Truxedo advised, if not satisified, they will refund $$$. I will try to correct first before refund.

Side note, I see you may have been looking at Advance Cover, I gave that one a hard look too, decided against it only because did not want to drill into the truck bed and create potential rust point.

Fold-A-Cover has a hard folding cover I would look at if your vehicle is not an
S-Crew. S-Crew bed is a bit uneven and Fold-A-Cover has not released this version yet.

Will advise.

Hogan,
I appreciate your response. I may just wait a few days to see what becomes of yours but with Truxedo backing it I may just go ahead and get it myself. Let me know what happens.

Cool

BlackLariat,

On the phone with Truxedo, very helpful,
it was an install problem by the Ford
Dealer.
I went in and re-installed and now the unit appears to be working as I had hoped it would.

My reasons for buying Truxedo were:
- Did not want snaps
- Those with the sliding groove style looked questionable.
- As noted did not want to drill in the bed
- Wanted full access when necessary.
- The Truxedo sample seemed quality
- The Velcro holds quite well.

I am going to keep it, looks fine to me now.

Regards,

Hogan,
Thanks for the info..Glad you were able to get a good resolution to the situation. I am going to place my order this week. I will let you know my thoughts. I also was looking at it for the same reasons you did and I pretty much had decided this was what I wanted but I had a question regarding the looks and fit. Those questions have been answered thanks to you. What kind of install problem was it? Just wondering for future reference.

Lightbulb Advance Cover

I have an F150 SuperCab and I purchased an Advance Cover from K-Covers instead of a soft cover and I absolutely love the cover. This cover is a 4-Panel folding hard tonneau truck cover that can be opened from the front or the rear and can be removed in seconds (so you have access to your entire cargo area at all times). Check out their website at www.kcovers.com as they have a ton of great pictures and information. They were real helpful to me and answered all of my questions personally over the phone every time I called (and I had A LOT of questions). I shopped around but they did have the lowest prices on the web.

Good Luck,

Mark

Thumbs up

Hogan,
Got the cover installed finally. Been busy lately and just got the time to do it. I was impressed with the ease of the installation with the cover. I am happy with the overall appearance of it. I have a black truck and it looks SHARP on the truck. I have had it on about a week now and have received numerous compliments thus far. Hope you are still happy with yours.

Peace,
~J
