Question A.R.E. LSII vs SNUGLID ??

What do you think between these two covers?
I can't seem to make up my mind, but think i'm leaning towards the ARE LSII tonneau.
The optional wing looks quite nice I think.

If anyone knows a best price or has pics it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks all,
Glade

I can only speak for the A.R.E., I've had mine for 8 months and love it. IMO the snug lid is too plain looking, it's just flat. The quality of the A.R.E. lid is excellent, as are all components including a perfect paint job. This lid is extremly strong, I'll never own another truck without this lid. This lid covers all the bed rails and mine is completely waterproof. I'm sure the snug lid is a very good lid but it's too plain for me. Goodluck

I paid $645 + tax. Go to www.4are.com and print out $20 coupon.

Thumbs up

I'd give the thumbs up to the ARE LS11 lid.

I have had mine for a couple of weeks now and the look and fit is just fantastic, plus installation was a breeze.

They also offer some nice options. I took the sportwing with brakelight connection.

The Snug is nice. It's flat, low profile, streamlined. Problem is, I couldn't get it here in Florida. Went with the ARE. Hate the hump, thankfully the wing kind of hides it. It looks good but just sticks up to high for my tastes.

Back in 98, I went with the SnugTop's Snuglid. I got the model that bolts on rather than drilling. It was relatively expensive (700). In my opinion, it is low quality. I have inconsistent paint shades (black), cracks near the hinges, and sags within the cover (it is not level). I wrote, called, and emailed SnugTop. They refused to respond to my concerns. I would suggest not doing business with them. I suggest this not because of the poor quality of the product I received, but because of their response (or lack of) to my consumer problems. Things go wrong sometimes. A company should be judged on how they rectify the situation. SnugTop failed miserably for me.

Thanks for all the replies gang!
I have decided to go with the Snugtop because as one other poster commented I don't really care for the hump in the middle.
Thanks again all! Glad to hear you all like your covers

Got the ARE LSII with optional Sport Wing. My color match is excellant and wing does diminish hump. Suggest lowering rearend to ease rear visibility after installation with wing. This also puts latch at more accessable level for ease of opening.

Other planned mods: Wouldn't you like to know?

I had the ARE on my truck when I got it and its a nice cover. At first I wasn't too sold on the hump but after about a month I really liked it. BTW mines for sale if anyone wants it. I took it off because I need the open bed. Its red but someone knocked it over while it was sitting in the shed and scratched one side of it.
