Hi Bullitt! I have the same truck & also want the emblems. I asked at a local dealer & the only ones he had in stock were for the F250 - sort of a larger square emblem. I didn't have time to go back & see if he can order the ones on the F150's ('98 & up) but I think that's what you'd be looking for. Try a dealer & see if they can show you an example of them before you order them. Good luck - if I find aby other sources I can let you know. Try emailing me - Cowlady18@cs.com ok?

I don't think you'll find that by itself. As I recall on the new vehicles the logo is one piece.

Hello people,

I have a 97 as well.I just did that little modification. You can order the nameplates at your ford dealership.they come in one piece. You have to remove your old ones. They are attatched with 2 sided tape. The new badges come with XL or XLT.They ran me about 16.00 canadian each piece.Took the ford dealership about 3 days to get them in.

Hope this helps.

I have checked into this and the logo's do come as a one piece unit, I do not remember the price. They are attached with double sidded tape and I belive that there may be a mounting tap or two also. There is also a post where it shows you how to take all that black off to create a custom total chrome logo. Here is the page it's on, it's one of the members here, he also shows how he installed side marker lights to his truck.

BullittMcQueen,

Just replaced the 'F150' emblem on my tailgate with one of the 'F150 XLT Triton V8' emblems (as on the front fenders). Cost was about $15.00 USD from the dealer and I did notice that the 'Triton V8' logo was a separate piece from the 'F150 XLT' part of the emblem, just joined by the double sided tape on the back.

Next mod will be to replace the black paint on the emblems with boby color and replace the 'XLT' decal with 'XLT - 5.4L', in the same space.

Bob

I replaced the emblems on my 97' it is true that they are 2 pieces and that they are joined by double sided tape, but you have to by them as one piece and not seperately, I tried.

BullittMcQueen,

There was a post sometime ago with pictures . . . ! Basicly I sprayed WD-40 on the foam behind the emblems then worked them off with fishing line . . . you may have to carefully work a piece of wood or plastic in the gap to get the line back in past the two little pins on the back! Just take your time and you shouldn't have any problems.

I nicked the paint a little when I took the Ford oval off the tailgate, got in a hurry, but it touched up pretty good (it was inside the recessed oval)!

So, like I said, just take your time!

Bob
