I was thinking of the exact same thing, well not exactly...I'm planning on painting the bumper, the mirrors, the rear bumper...basically everything that is chrome. My question is while I'm getting the surround and bumpers done by a paint shop, should I do the mirrors myself and save 50 bucks? I'm also planning on painting the radiator cover and then whatever else I feel needs some paint Hey Talleywacker, when you get it done, post some pics!!

Talley, tough to guess, but I would say that you will save yourself a CONSIDERABLE amount of money if you go ahead and uninstall it and clean it up before bringing it in, not only that but it'll give you use of your vehicle rather then it being in a body shop doing nothing. It'll be better to do it that way that way they can paint not only the face of it but the mounting portion of it and in where the lights go, and it'll look like it came that way. I would guess somewhere around $100, maybe a bit more...

Thanks mattbert! If I can get it done for under $130 then it's definitely worth it! I will take your advice and remove/clean it before i get it painted. Nice tip, thanks.
