Question grille question

I have been looking at billet grilles and was wondering what it means when it says billet grille "insert". Most grilles are around $100-150, the inserts are $50. is it just harder to install, not look as good, go over current grille, and if so can you cut the old one out? Thanx for any help?

Talking

Alot of them are called inserts, even the difficult to install models. There are a few brands that just slip in over the factory grille, but IMO they don't look quite as good as the full billet grille. They usually have fewer bars and cut off bars around the corners(yuck)
As with any auto accessory the more expensive models look better. They are more difficult to install, but look more complete, and fit better. The cheaper models(true insert)need the factory grille
to hold them on,so you wouldn't want to cut it out. Hope some of this helps,,,,,98

They might be talking about bumper inserts. A billet grill that fills the hole in the bumper.
