Can anyone think of any reason why I couldn't put a steering wheel from say a Ranger or Explorer in my truck? I really hate the 2-spoke design of our steering wheels. With my driving style, it's very uncomfortable to hold. I want a thumb hole right in the middle of the left spoke. That's where I hold the wheel, and I feel like I have carpule tunnel of the thumb after driving long distances. The 4 spoke wheel would allow me to hook my thumb around the wheel comfortably while maintaining my present elbow to armrest relationship.

I don't see why you couln't put a Exploreer wheel on, after all the Lightnings have this wheel

 

i believe the 2001 f150s all have 4 spoke desigh wheels. (at least lightinings and HD do). so you might be able to get one of those. try fordpartsonline.com call them and ask. i personally like the two spoke because for me it makes it easier to turn with one hand. (with the palm of my hand on the wide spoke) but everyone drives diffrently and i can see how it would be annoying.
