Door Mirror Covers
I am wondering were to find the midnight blue mirror covers to match my truck. I have the chrome ones now and I want to switch them over. I know from being the son of a bodyman that simply painting the chrome ones will not last, so that is not an option. Any thoughts on this matter would appreciated. Also...how in the hell do you get the covers off? Thanks for any help.

You can get the covers from www.fordpartsonline.com they cost around 40 dollars a piece. Instructions on how to remove are on a previous post. Check the boards

Hey 12Vrep, I changed those on my truck and it was pretty straight forward and they look great. I am lucky enough to have someone in ford parts so they cost me 10$ each plus 25$ to paint them (do not come painted). To get them off, tilt the mirror all the way down and look in there, you will see two clips on either side, this is what holds them in. Use a long small flathead and pop them up, do the same at the bottom and they should pop right off(helps to push in on the cover too). Repeat the process to get them back on because you may have to use the same technique <sp?> to get them back on, the clips dop not always catch over the latch. Good Luck!

I had my original mirror covers painted about six monthhs ago since the dealer told me that they can only be purchased in chrome. I use a little extra wax on them and they are looking just as good as when they were painted.
