Post Is there Any Cutting Involved When Putting On Billet Grille

Hi, I am finally ready to get a billet grill, and am wondering if there will be any cutting involved in removing my old grill and putting this one in. I was hoping I could just pop the one I have out and put this one in, and it would be as simple as Pie, but that sounds too good to be true.

Thanks

I just installed a Stull Black Billet Grille on my 2001 SCrew a couple weeks ago. Yes there is some cutting.

Once you get the outer trim piece off (I'll discuss this in a moment, as there is a trick to this) you will need to break off the 20+ tabs that hold on the factory grille. Once you do this, I used a Dremel to trim these flush with the back of the front trim piece. Your Billet grille will lay flat against the back of this once it's installed.

Now, be careful removing the two metal spring clips at the bottom of the OEM grille. A long putty knife, or a long bladed flat screw driver with continual pressure will work.

Six screws at the top of the front trim piece will need to be removed. One screw above the left & right turn signal lights will need to be removed. And, the catcher. On the 2001's there is a tab with two screws located behind the turn signal lights. The Stull instructions do not indicate this. If you were unaware as I was you will think that the removal of the 6 top screws, the two tabs, and the single corner screws would do it and the front would slip right out...wrong! If you pull too hard you can break off these tabs. So...be careful!
