Post Clear corners are in!

Just put a set of Clear corner lenses in that I got today from the online store here. Man they really set the truck off. Makes the truck look more classy. If you've got a white truck like I do you NEED a set of these!

Hey Frank, yeh I agree with you, they really do set the truck off. I bought mine on "autodynamic's.com" for about 30$ and got them three days later.(picked that tip up here from LuvmyTruck I think) Anyway, that was a well spent thirty dollars-they look sweet!

That's a good price on the corners. I saw where you guys had ordered them from there but I figured I'd help contribute to the site. Wish I could've gotten my hands on some clear tailights before they were pulled though....

So Dave, are you saying it is ok to have clear corners with white bulbs...hmmmmmmm!
Sure looks sweet on that white truck, much better then those ugly amber bulbs. Ohh and BTW Frank, there is some guy selling clear tail lights with all the red bulbs and boots in the classifieds, quite a deal I think.. Hope that helps you out! Have a good weekend guys...

Frank they do make LED bulbs to go in the tail lights but I don't have those. To be honest with you, I got some really crappy "red condom" things to go over my stock bulbs when I ordered my lenses. I ended up going to a Sports Car Shop and paid $50 for four bulbs. I tried the cheaper bulbs but they looked either really dim or pinkish. The "condoms" also turned a whitish color after a few weeks, which prompted me to get the colored bulbs in the first place. Basically they usually just send you the bulb covers "condoms" which I think are either rubber or silicone to slip over the stock clear bulbs... beware, they suck! I think the LED bulbs sell for about $22 each if I remember correctly. They do look bad *** though!

One peice missing. Although the clear corners are fine, you're removing the amber reflector that's required for the front corners. Plus, the turn signal is supossed to be amber according to a post by someone claiming to be with the NHTSA https://www.f150online.com/f150board...L/001082.html.

Now all that aside, I just installed clear corners on my Expy. I'm going with them for a while to see how I like them. Not having the amber reflector doesn't bother me too much because I haven't heard of anyone getting hassled about it. Plus I'm using the amber bulb. I'm installing Xenon's on the driving lights this week and that should finish off lighting for now. Oh, I did the light switch mod so I can run with parking and driving lights on only. With the Xenon's I think I'll like it even more.

Ok....here is the problem with clear corners...its not the amber bulbs in most cases....Tx for sure....its the missing amber side marker reflectors...required by Federal law..I didnt see it in the Texas Transportation code because all it says is Texas will use the Federal standard....doesnt mention what the federal standard is..but Mike with NHTSA says front side markers (reflectors) are required and since ours are on our front turn lights..and we remove them..I guess we are all illegal....although my corners do have refectors built in they are just not amber as required by Federal Law...this will make them illegal in Texas..DAVE
