Post Ford hood deflector. Bad choice?

Just installed a Ford hood deflector and I'm a little concerned. Checking the corners there seems to be a potential for it to slap against the hood itself at highway (maybe less) speeds. Anyone installed one and run into this? Im gonna be doing about 400 highway miles this weekend and don't really wanna have to remove it during the trip.

Cool

Did it come with some little bump stops? Most deflectors include these to stop it from coming in contact with the hood. They're supposed to be installed on the hood at points where the deflector might come in contact. A lot of people, including me, put them on the deflector itself instead of the hood.

No bump stops included... It would actually slap under the hood as opposed to on top.. Just seems weird that it would flap around at all..

F150Sven,
How do you like the WMS Velocity tube? I've been trying to find a system which would allow me to keep the stock air box so I could still have the cold air induction. I saw one of these tubes a few months ago, but I couldn't remember who made it until I saw your signature. Thanks for the reminder.

SilverSCrew, I just asked the same question. You can find the string under Drivetrains/Engines. subject: COLD/HOT INTAKE AIR SCIENTIFIC PROOF, page 2.

Cool

I like it. I think the overall gains are the same as the other options. It costs quite a bit less, too. Do a search in the engine section on airbox, WMS, intake, etc. There were quite a few discussions on this subject 6 months or so ago.

F150Sven-
Did you have any problems with the install of the Velocity Tube and or has it held toegether ok? I read some other posts where people thought it was made poorly.

Cool

I wouldn't say it's poorly made. The tube itself is clean and has a nice powdercoat. The biggest issue is the piece of hose that replaces the fender piece. I think it should be 3 1/2" I.D. instead of 3". Other than that, I don't have any problems. It took maybe an hour to install. I've had it for about 8 months with no problems.
