Cool Just installed BugDeflector II

My question is where are the best areas to put little rubber bumps on bug deflector. I ain't going to put them on paint. The bug deflectorII looks really sharp. Thanks

put them on the bug deflector itself. I put one close to the bend in the hood and one close to edge of the hood so the bug deflector didnt hit the corner or the fender at high speeds.

Be carefull sticking them on the shield itself. The rubber bumpers could wear a hole through the paint. The shield vibrates a lot and even rubber can damage the paint. I saw it on a friends '98. After a year and a half the rubber had worn all the way through the clear coat and base coat to the primer.

The sticky stuff won't hurt the paint. I had to replace my bug shield because it had faded so much it turned yellow. When I removed the bumpers and saw the residue it left I thought... oh *****. It took a while with some adhesive remover but I did get it off. Could not tell the bumpers were ever stuck there.

Good luck!

Hey kkirt1 that is very interesting. I put the rubber bumps on the the very ends and in the middle. It appears that the wind will most likely cause the ends to touch where it wraps around hood because they seem most flexable. Has anyone else ever had that problem with rubber bumps wearing through paint??? Thanks for advice kkirt1

I've never seen the rubber bumps vibrate through the paint, but i have never removed one to see if it did. I have a bigger problem with rocks going through the paint.

I didn't use the rubber stops on mine and so far I haven't had any problem with the paint chipping or anything. Also DaveH I haven't noticed any more wind noise with it on compared to before I had it.
