Question General Q's

I have a couple of fender flares and ventshades that are starting to come off (were on the truck when I bought it), prolly due to the wonderful weather here in Ohio. Anyway, what products could I use to re-glue or otherwise repair these before they come all the way off? Also, my ford badge on my grille caught a stone and cracked, is there somewhere else I can get one other than the dealer? Thanks.

Go to your local Ford body shop and ask them if they have any Ford ovals laying around. I got one from mine to make a hitch cover, they had a pile of the emblems from wrecked vehicles and didn't charge me for it. While you are there ask them about your flares and ventshades, they will probably recommend double sided tape.

J. C. Whitney has a Blue Oval that lights up . . . might be a nice replacement . . .

I live in NY, so I feel your pain about the weather. Wal Mart sells a double sided tape that we customizers in NY know as "Wal Mart Red Tape", and I have no idea who makes it, but you can find it at Wal Mart, and the plastic backing is bright red. All of us New Yorkers pull of the regular 3M tape that comes on plastic appearance accessories, and use the red stuff. The regular tape falls off within a year, but the red stuff holds forever. It might even be made by 3M, but it's way better than the stuff that came on your vent shades. The red tape was recommended to me many years ago by a custom shop owner. Junkyards charge you for emblems, but body shops are happy to get rid of stuff, so that's your best bet. Good luck.

Saw your post and your Rochester NY . I used to live in Rochester off of 31 near 250(Fairport). Where are you located in Rochester. Nice to see a "Former neighbor" on the site. You guys surviving the snow up there right now? Used to make long trips to Henrietta going to work when I was up there and the weather got bad, bad as in a NY sense of the word

PhoenixClaw,
The 3M tape works really well to re-attach this stuff. We used it frequently in the garage I worked in years ago for side moudings, flares and etc.
