Like those red hoses! Did you get those in a kit or custom fit them? I also like the wood grain steering wheel cover. Truck looks great! One more thing. What kind of car is that you have covered in the background?

Hey Frank S,

Got them at a hot rod shop in Albuquerque. It was just a 15' or 20' length, and you cut it to the size you want.
I also got the yellow tie wraps to set them off. The car is my fiances' 82 RX-7. If we ever come home,it will be the first of two cars to be restored. My 65 Falcon is sitting out of sight right beside it. Thanks for the compliments!,,,,98

Thanks Don!
I kept going back and forth on which airdam to buy,was hard to find one I liked enough to drop the cash for. I bought this one two months ago when I found a place that had it in stock. Now for the lights The PIAA's that fit this model cost as much or more than the airdam, per pair. I guess I'll buy some cheapies to fill in til I can afford them,,,,,,98

98, how exactly did you get your headlights to look like that? I remember a while back when you tried to describe it, but couldn't picture it. What exactly did you do?Close ups may help too. Thanks.

Here is a close-up from when I had the chrome grille shell. I took it in direct sunlight, but it still looks dark. What I did was take out the corners and headlights, tape off the whole face up to about 1/4" away from where they turn towards the grille. Sanded them, then painted them semi-gloss black around the outer edges. You can see where I changed my mind about the paint where the two pieces meet . I painted them silver there because the gap looked two inches wide at that point. It looks kind of junky there, but the rest looks great. I am
getting the 01 Lightning headlights soon,I may try the same treatment on them as well.,,,,,,,98

Actually I painted them like that to keep light from leaking out from the edges of the painted clear headlight covers. It looked better with the covers off,so I trashed them and left just the painted part.

hey 98screamer, your front modifications are sweet. Was your "upper" bumper originally chrome? If it wasn't, how and where did you get a color-keyed upper bumper?

It originally had a completely chrome front end,the bumper had the black plastic trim in the middle. I bought a bumper from an aftermarket bodypart supply place in Omaha,NB. It came in the base model dk.
graphite and had it painted to match the body color. A month or two later I took the airdam in for an estimate(paint) and the shop just happened to have a used grille shell! It really blew me away when he sold it to me for $50! So,the bumper, grille shell, and airdam set me back about $685,with paint included. Seems like alot, but it looks the way I've wanted it to since I bought it The bumper was $136,and the paint charge for it was $120.,,,,,,,98

Don't I know it,These Yokahama tires seem to lasting forever I really want some new rims,BAD! The bad part is that most of the rims I've liked only come in 16x8 at the largest. I like the traditional five spoke design style. There are a few out there, though. Still waiting for just the right rims ,,,,,98

I love that RX-7 black on black,100% stock(for now )

I'm not putting it down or anything... it looks good, but all I could think of when I saw it was that it looked like they put the roll pan under the bumper!? It looks like it should be in the back with dual twin chrome tips poking out through the holes! I'm sure it'll look better with the lights in...
