Cool Painted PIAA airdam and lights pics inside...

Painted factory grill and new PIAA airdam with "40" series fog lights, and 85W SuperWhite bulbs, PIAA 9007 SuperWhite headlight bulbs with CATZ Zeta transformers..

Airdam needed a couple slight mods to work to my satisfaction, but a good look over all, now for the long awaited ROUSH suspension!

Looks awesome! You say you made a few modifications, what did you have to modify if you don't mind me asking? Also did you paint it then install it or install it then paint it? HOw do you like the lights?

Wink

The lower cover that channels air into the radiator needed to have a new mount, it didn't look as good without it in place, and the lower mount for the liscence plate, will just hang there unless you bend them back up, and screw it into the bottom of the bumper.

Painted and then installed. Will go back to stock super easy!

Love the lights, the high output bulbs are perfect, and the look is what I wanted. We recently had a fourteen hour round trip run from Dallas TX, to Laredo TX (mexico border) and had some heavy rain on the way back, really helped there.

Question

DECHman,

Did you buy you airdam locally? Where? How much? And who did the paint job? My SuperCrew is also white, and I like the way yours turned out, although I would probably go with gray to match lower trim on mine.

Crew, anyone that can order PIAA lights should be able to get the airdam for you. You can also get it at the f150world.com store for about 189 (you may be able ot find locally for cheaper though). It does come in factory grey, I thought of painting it too match but figured it'd cost too much, and I don't want to take it off to reinstall it now

I bought it locally, and it does come in a factory match grey, like the pic above.

Got mine from The Racing Zone on Cooper St in Arlington, Tx. I think they have another one currently in stock.

DFW camper is also a PIAA dealer, so give them a try.

Online may be cheaper so check it out!

Question

DECHman/Mattbert,
Does the airdam extend any lower than the factory unit? I've only seen it on 4WD trucks prior to yours. I've got a 2WD SCrew and am looking for an airdam with foglights. Is the unpainted similar in color and texture to the factory airdam?

Trucks look awesome!

yes, similar in texture and color to the stock unit... as for hanging lower, I'd say MAYBE 1/2"-1" but I didn't measure it exactly. I think its almost exactly the same but I say at worst its maybe 1/2" lower.

I agree, not much lower and very similar in color and texture to the factory part.
