Post Wiring up lights.

OK, on a new F-150 4x4 the Fog lights are wired into the regular switch. Let's say I add driving lights and Fog lights. I have a 4x2 so no fog light switch. Is it possible to purchase the 4 way switch w/fog, and wire the driving lights to the headlights so when the headlights are on the driving lights turn on? and can a set of PIAA fog lights be wired to the fog lamp setting? I'd like to do all I can to avoid having to cut into the dash for the new switches and keep the interior looking as stock as possible.

actually in my 2000 F-150 I did kind of what your talking about. I believe you could purchase the switch through ford and it would just be a matter of pulling one switch out, putting the new one (after remembering where all wires go of course). I hooked up my PIAA fog lights to come on with my stock fog light switch (I replaced my stock fogs with PIAA's and the PIAA Airdam).
I'm not sure how this would work since you don't have the existing fog lights, it would be the same but you would have to take the switch wire through the firewall to the switch, unless they've already done that for you. I replaced hte lights, hooked up the PIAA's to positive and negative battery terminals, like I would if it were using a seperate switch. H ere's where it gets tricky. On the PIAA relay (or KC relay or whatever) you'll have three wires going to the switch that they typically provide. A positive (so it can light up the switch, not needed in un-lit switches), a negative, and a switch. Cut the positive and the ground wires, then take the last remaining wires and splice it in to the hot wire for the existing fogs (or run this wire to the new switch your talking about adding, whichever way should be fine). That way they'll come with your stock switch.

I wired my KC's through the brights. Whenever I turn on my brights, my kc's turn on. Actually, they are my brights now, but I can turn the kc switch off if I want to use the regualr brights. It isn't hard.

If it isn't hard would you mind saying how you did it?

Chris, the way truckluver has it is how some light manufacturers recommend it... the switch can only receive power (hence send power to the relay) when the brights are turned on. To do it you'd take the wire coming from the switch (typically an exposed wire) and splicing it into the high-wire beam.

Yeah, all you have to do is splice the wire from the brights to the kc wire. It isn't hard at all. I didn't even think of doing it until I was under the hood, and I thought it would be a good idea.
