Post WANTED: Frame mouned side bars

I have been lookin for about 2 months for a black frame mounted sidebar and have only seen RHINO bars that are frame mounted, but i don't like their look. I called Westin and Smitty but they both use body mounts now.

Anyone know were I can find frame mated bars?

I have Westins, and I was thinking of getting Lund step bars instead.
Mine are less than 4 months old. They have the 4 steps though since mine has 4 doors.

I'll take $135 plus shipping for them.

E-mail me.

Not too sure, but check out Manik... I think they do too... Also, www.roadarmor.com. They're expensive, but they're also fully functional side-impact protection.

hay lariet4wd, that extra step would just make me regret not getting a 99 w/4 doors- kidding, but the extra door would be nice!

I did call Smitty and WEstin to see why they no longer make frame mounted bars, but the customer service rep's had no clue,,,makes my wonder why too! I will track some of the leads and let y'all know what i find. Thanks

Protection. I think the body mounts would be ok for my measly 260#'s, but a minor side or underneath impact may do more damage to the body mount. I know a medium impact would probably damage a frame mount too, so it's more for parking lot scapes and bumps- our secratery has managed to back into 2 cars. sheeshs!

After seeing all the posts I called Smitty again and YES, they are frame mounted. I had some bad information from their last sales rep.

I'm gonna order the Smitty's, although the Manix are also very nice, just a little pricey..

Thanks for all the input.

Are you wanting frame-mounted for protection, or just because it seems like a more sturdy mount?

If you are just using them as steps, the body-mounted ones are great. Plenty strong to hold up my 280# big-@ss. Obviously, they aren't suited for protective purposes, though.
