keyless entery/ power converting for remote start
As most of you know, once our Bad-*** trucks are running the keyless entery is not funtional. Does this circuit lose its power when the ignition is turned on??
Here is the problem.
I installed a remote start that uses the existing remote instead of using multiple controlers. BUT once you start the Truck, the keyless entry is not functional. So, I have to resort to the labor intevsive means of "Using a Key". (How primitive). Not only that, but the panic is disabled too. I know where the keyless entery module is located under the dash. I was wondering if I could "jump" a wire from my remote start module that gives power to access. over to the power on the keyless entery module?
Maybe diode isolate the wire so current does not reverse. I am gonna' go under there and check w/test light and see what the circuit does when the ignition is On/Off.
Any thoughts???

My 99 Expedition works with the ignition on. Even when I remote start it but I do use another remote to control everything. I had installed a remote start on a friends Expedition useing the keyless entry remotes and the keypad worked. It could be possible that the unit you are useing is not diode protected etc and you can try to add them externally. His logic was that he likes to lock his key in his truck at home so he uses another remote to start it from the house and then he doesn't have to worry about forgetting his key. Whatever....
