Flareside euro tails
Has anybody seen some for the newer 2-bulb setup on the late 2000 and 01 flaresides? They went to a 2-bulb setup and nobody seems to make them yet... I know APC was supposed to be releasing them this month, but I haven't seen anything official yet...

Pimpnxlt; Did you have any problems installing yours. I got mine on, but there's a gap in the rear. They won't install flush in the taillight opening. Also, anyone buying from procarparts.com beware. I tried to explain my install problem ot them by phone, but was told in broken English that they couldn't help me because I already installed them. Hmm, don't you normally install something to see if it fits properly? I also was told a 1/16" or 1/8" gap is "not that bad". Unless you speak camel, don't try this dealer. Good luck.
The EuroTails from ProCarparts.com were designed for 99's, which have a slightly different tail opening.
I got them into my 2000 without much effort. You need to splice in a second light socket w/bulb and you need to shave off a small 1/4" tab that sticks out then it fits with no gaps.
As soon as I can, I'll take pictures of the tab you need to cut off... I cut it off with a pair of wire cutters, took less then a minute.

Wow, your truck looks awefully clean for the weather I can see. It won't stop raining in FL. That's ok, we need it. My truck is filthy though. I might have to order me some of those tails.
How much is another light socket?
How much work is involved in splicing n the second one. If I want to go back to the OEM tails, what is involved? Will that be too much drain on to 2000 harness since it was designed for only 2 bulbs per side, instead of 3? Thanks.

I think the altezza's are the most noticable of the mods money I have spent so far..

lariat4wd, I've been washing the beast about twice a week to keep the salt off. bleck. I was just lucky that about 5 minutes ride from my house there is a "touchless" 24-hour automatic car wash for a good quick wash'n'rinse... I am aching to do a good waxing, thought thats about 6 weeks away at the rate this weather is going.
It just dropped another 6" right now, poor baby is all covered in snow.
I love the tail lights too...there was not much work in installing the lights, I would snap some shots, but its still a blizzard outside. I bought some "side-tap" wire splices, the ones that squeeze onto the previous wire without cutting. The light socket cost $2.50 at Autozone and the bulb was around that itself. You just put the wires into the side-tap, squeeze it and voila, its connected...to take them off, you just unclip it! Just like new.

Pawn; Can't wait for the tab modification pics! What is this talk about rewiring the lights? I assume it's for the 99 & 2000 trucks which only have two bulbs. Please hurry with the pics. Thanks.
I read somewhere on the boards that APC will have the 2 bulb Altezzas out soon. But I'm not going to count on that one. I wonder if anyone will total a 2001 L in my area in the side so I can get the front and rear lights. I hate to see nice rides go down, but it happens, and why shouldn't I profit from it?
Folks, my local Ford man(Dayton, NJ)has parts listings for the '01 Lightning's lights!!
They are awesome looking!!Headlights include the corner lights and look sharper then the "other" euro headlights!!And at $112.25 each, a steal!!
Taillights are euro too, nice looking. But i prefer the Altezza euro with two red lights.Still, cheap at$40.12 each..!!
Good shopping.
PS when do we "Joisey Boys" get together??!
