Is Ford the only place to get a set? I can imagine they will be really expensive. A buddy at work just got his 01 Lightning. It is at the dealership- with one taillight missing! So, he won't get it until next week. Can't wait to see it. Maybe he'll trade me tailights! I doubt it. Anyway, just wondering if anyone else had checked on these from Ford or anywhere else.

for the 97, there are 3 taillight bulbs. so the new lights wont work for you, but they do make the 3 bulb one for the 97-99s, you can get them from the f150world store, or i think autosyndacite.com(spelling) hope this helps. and they are probably not as expensive as from FORD

 

I heard they would fit. Someone here (can't remember who) said they put a set like your talking about on a 2000. He said that there are three bulbs in the 2000-01s. The lights are diffrent, but the wires and bulbs are the same. Just plug em' in. Was he wrong?

 

BTW bomber, I noticed you live in McKinney. I used to live in New Hope.

 

im 100% sure, that the 00-01 only have 2 bulbs. I guess you could put them on your 97, and take out one of the bulbs. just make sure you take out the right one out, because one is with running lights and the other one is on and also blinks with turn signal. i think its the top red light that blinks.

Thanks, guys. Guess I misunderstood what the guy was saying. Or, maybe he just plugged his two in and left one out? Oh well, maybe I can figure something out if it is not too much trouble. I already went through ordering a set of clear corners that did not fit. I have and early 97 model and the headlight assemblies are diffrent from later 97-up models.

 

Kirby; Contact Roger @ the Online Store, he has the clear corners for the early '97 models. I got mine, and they fit and look great. You probably can resell the other ones in the classified section of this website. Contact me for better instructions on installing them, the manufacturer's are not very good. Good luck.
