Thumbs down Steelhorse billet grill

I have seen it discussed in this board whether or not the Steelhorse billet grille is or is not plastic. I have seen first hand at the local Pep Boys this grill in the box and it is most definitely plastic. I believe this qualifies as false advertising when it says right on the box"100% billet aluminum".
I have tried to contact Steelhorse to clear this up but the link at their web site for their e-mail does not work. I just wanted to let everyone know that was considering this purchase as I was.

They have them up here at Schucks and they're plastic. But they do look nice.

Plus, I heard ya gotta use zipties to keep the grille in place. Screw that!

Question

4ord_man, That's really strange, They had two boxes, maybe I should have checked both of them. What was the price? It was $79.99 for the main and $39.99 for the bumper insert. I don't know what is going on here.

Hey Guys,

I have a Steel Horse billet grille installed on my truck. It is 100% metal... no plastic whatsoever. Also, I did not need to use any zip ties to attach it to my ride. Just had to drill a couple of holes for the screws.

There may be better grilles out there, but mine looks good and I have had zero problems with it. That's my .02 worth.

I have the Steelhorse upper and lower grilles for my expy. They are both metal and come with mounting hardware. No zip ties. I bought them from carparts.com.

My apologies:

I must have been misinformed about the Steelhorse billet grille. My mistake

Split; I have the billet grill from Wee1 on e-bay, and yes, it does attach with wire ties. No problems, and you can't see them unless you're up close. I'd challenge quality of the product over means of attaching. Good luck!
