Question Super white

Ok, I am gonna put some super white bulbs in my truck, since the stock ones suck. I want more lighting for off road use and all, so I was going to get some super whites that are 90W/110W. Who makes a cheap harness, so that I dont end up with a carbeque? Or do I even need one? Also who makes a really bright super white fog light bulb? How much of a blue tint is there?

be careful when you use any high wattage bulbs w/ plastic h/l lense's as they can melt them, and it's not cheap to replace them

Cool

Hey rustyf1504x4, just get some 9007 series xenon bulbs, they plug into the stock harness, they are anywhere form $40 to $50 bucks, DOT approved and give off a lite blue color. Be sure the bulbs are DOT approved, in the great state of New Jersey they bust your ***** pretty good. Maybe not in AL. There are alot of cheaper bulbs out there that give off little or too much blue. Generally if it is got toomuch blue it isn't DOT. hope this helps.

No Harness required, as far as I can tell.
I've been running Blue Diamonds from Korea for a couple of years in my Explorer and just moved them to my SCrew. They are 90W
low beam, and 110W High beam

I bought some super whites for my truck from autodynamic.com, as well as my clear corners. The corners are sweet, their bulbs suck!!! I bought them three months ago. In the first month the high beams on the driver's side went out. So only one high beam worked. Two days ago, the passenger side low beam went out. Yea it looks cool when I switch from low to high but how cheap can you get. I got my awesome truck to show off, and then I gotta drive it around like it's some kind of '87 Datsun w/ one head light . Anyways bought some more from carparts.com, but I heard they suck too. Oh well.

Cool

You will have to replace the harness if you want higher wattage bulbs. There were posts about the stock one failing after extended use of higher wattage bulbs. Do a search, there is a link in a thread on here to a site that sells beefed up wiring harness for the 9007 type bulbs. You won't get much, if any, more light out of the same wattage bulbs, Superwhite or not. If you want brighter lights, you really need a higher wattage bulb. Superwhites will just give you a different look and drain your wallet IMO.

I just installed mine and they draw 55/65W and put out 80/100W in a light blue-white "hyper-white" color. They look great and are the same brightness as stock..it appears to me. I got them off Ebay from
"paytel@ixpres.com"

Click Here to do a search by Seller. Pretty cheap, and come packed very well. They are a PAIN to install. That's just the Ford headlight design, not the bulbs. The passenger side goes in easily, but the driver's side requires some cerativity without removing the overflow bottle.
Don't touch those bulbs...they will blow quick if they have anything on them..oil, grease, dirt, etc.

Good Luck.
