Hey xenon, do you know where I could pick up a lightning bumper cover, the lower bumper. I am thinking of changing mine to the lightning. And do you know about how much they run Thanks, and nice pics.

You can order them through the ford parts dept or any body shop should be able to get them for ya.If I remeber right those are not cheap either.

 

The bumper cover is about $250-wholesale.
The inner bumer is $180-wholesale.

Was the '00 lightning bumper brackets difficult to install into your '97 F-150? Was there any welding, or was it just "bolt in place"? May I have the details. Also, would anyone know if the '00 lightning grill frame the same as a '00 F-150 grill frame? And was the '00 grill easy to mount on your '97? I just wanna know the details of the labor difficulty (if any) before I go ahead and purchase these parts.

mana- Everything was a direct bolt on replacement, I was surprised How simple things went together ,, Any way it took about
4 hours to do the swap.The 2000 f150 and the 2000 lightning grill are the same,The grill swap is very easy,It is held on by about 6 small screws.

 

The bumper comes in unpainted. You can have the dealership paint it or go to your favorite body shop.
