Smile Brush/Grille Guard

Does anyone know how much installation cost is on a brush guard. Or can I do it by myself, and if I do do it by myself, how much labor is involved, what tools are needed? Thanks F150 Fans (the best trucks in the world)

Cool

As long as you've got two arms you should be able to do it pretty easily. Actually you could probably do it with one arm. They all vary a little in the installation though. On mine, I just put a bolt in each side to act as a hinge and turned it up to put the rest of the bolts in. Ya just need 2 sockets/wrenches to tighten the bolts after you get it all lined up nice.

Have you already bought the guard?
If not, try www.carparts.com
Lookup guards for F-150
There are 2 different ones. I just ordered the 80212. List is $309.99 on their site. Use coupon code 1963005 and get $100 off. Mine came to just under $250 shipped to my door.
As for installation difficulty, I'll let you know next weekend when I put mine on. Good luck.

Some are different from others, do you have the 4x4 or 2x4?
My Ranchhand bolts to the factory towhook location and wraps around the bumper.

with a heavier brush guard or by yourself you can use a tow strap or rope to hold it from a rafter or something while you position it in place and bolt it up.

I have the Manik on my truck and I had no problem installing it. Just put the bolt in the back hole on each side and flip it up put another bolt i to hold it and tighten. Worked very good on mine.

How many t-sips does it take to install a grill guard??? J/K longhorn, they are pretty easy to install, usually by one person. I wouldn't attempt a ranchhand alone though. Good luck! Gig'em!

Most places will charge an hour's worth of labor. I just did mine tonight in about an hour and a half... had problems getting the brackets on right.... had to drop the chin spoiler, crawling in and out.... It's friggin' cold out now! Went over to my Dad's (even warned him yesterday) only to find freshly varnished moldings in the garage! Then, he yelled at me for doing it in the driveway!??! Like I was just gonna leave it in my bed for a week?!?! Gimme a break! But I digress... Got it on, looks sweet... No pics, though... too dark out by the time I got started. Maybe in the morning after I wash it.
