Question Alarm Systems

Does anyone really think alarm systems are necessary on these trucks. The keys have the programmed chip so they can't be hot wired.

Cool

Yes I do... Someone got in to my truck while it was sitting out behind my garage and took my cell phone, went through my glove box and took a hunting knife..luckly they didnot look in my back seat and see my Digital camera or 35mm sitting there. Had a Viper Alarm system installed and sofar so good.

I had no alarm on my previous vehicle, and it was broken into twice in a one month period. My 98 has a Viper 500HF and no break ins in two years.....

Thumbs up

Just a fair warning...talking alarms actually attract people. They want to hear them talk. My advice, just get one that "chirps" or "beeps". Just a suggestion.

Talking

Yeah, that's funny. I remember about eight or so years ago, those talking alarms were the $**(# . Haven't heard any in a long time. I also remember wanting to kick someones mirror off when
it would say"STEP AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE!!" I'm really not like that, but it kind of of pissed me off when all I did was
walk by it in a parking lot. Trust me,talking alarms attract the wrong attention,,,,,,98

I believe so, I have a Clifford 7000 with motion sensor and dual shock sensor, I like having my expensive stereo still in the dash, alot of people in my town thinks its cool to steal stuff, well not from me, I like my alarm I can set it so sensitive with the motion sensor that a bug can walk across the windshield and it will go off.................anyways I believe so and it makes your insurance drop, I saved over 10% on my insurance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
