Question " HELP " Ram Air Hood

I recently had some hail damage on my hood and am currently looking for a ram air hood for my Ford. My body shop says to stay away from fiberglass, but my friend at the speed shop has a Good Hood on his 99' and likes it. I saw the link from Profinish-Proglass and love the one on the blue truck!!! Was wondering the price. Any comments from someone who has one or experience or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Question

So how much were your hoods and where did you get them? I like the Cervini hood slightly better, but was wondering if the holes went clear through with some type of screen or were just indentations?

The main reason I like the profinish hood is that jba racing makes a kit for it that gives you ram air induction. From my understanding that is worth around 20 horsepower and it looks good two.

Pony:

The holes were filled using frosted plexiglass. Have white strobes under the hood for shows. I've since removed the plexiglass.
Waiting on the ram-air setup from Cervinis. If it's not coming soon, I'm going to mount thin bars of stainless in there like I originally planned to match the billet grills.

Here's my $.02

one50npump,

Where did you get that air dam? I am considering buying a '99 bumper, and that's one of the best looking air dams I have seen. How much do they cost?

Love the truck! It looks great!

The cervini will have a kit to make it functional in about a month.
The holes are real holes - you can stick you hand through them and see the engine.
that hood cost exactly $439.00
freight shipping from New Jersey to Oklahoma was $74.40 - you pay the driver.
the hood weighs around 45 pounds.
the functional kit will probably cost $180.
I only paid $180.00 for the paint job and was not charged for installation (only b/c I was not quoted for it).
when I get the kit I'm going to put a little light (don't know what color) in the pan that attaches to the hood so there will be a glow.

TampaBayL-
how did you do the billet in the hood?

Question

If the holes in the hood are open, what happens during a hard rain with all the water that gets dumped in the engine compartment? The electronics under the hood are very sensitive to water and moisture. I've already replaced two coil packs due to water.

Thanks, TampaBayLightning. That baby looks awesome, I'm checking it out now.
KSinLA, I've got to take your concern into consideration also - I don't like problems - especially when I've caused them..... thanks!
