Truck accessories?

When I got out of the Army my seperation pay was 2 grand. I went downtown to the niciest hotel and got a suite for a three day weekend. I called the liquer store and had drinks delivered by the case. I went down to the street and invited several new friends (haven't seen any of them since) to join me. We had roomservice sent up, ordering only the best, for three days.
Total price tag, $1700.

A friend asked me what I did with the rest.
I said, "Oh, I blew that.".

You can see my signature for the things I got. So far I'm real happy with all of it. BTW the ICI bars is the second set I've owned. The first made it through 2.5 years and 24k miles of Iowa wether and probably about 1k-1.5k miles of gravel roads and they still look good. I paid $325 shipped for my last pair. Email if you have questions

EDIT
Well for some reason my email is not showing in my profile so I will add it to my sig... for now it's carlu@farmtel.net

YAHOO, definitely YAHOO.
It is at a 12 month low of about $88.
12 month target of $180-$200.
Rated strong buy or buy with most investment counselors.
A year from now you could spend 2K and still have 2K invested.

Thumbs up

1)Buy a ticket to see Raoul on his pay day.

2)Spend the other $1,800 on tires and wheels. (nothing else makes a truck look better)(and helps resale somewhat).

3) Do not tell your wife (about Raoul)!

Post What to do with 2 grand??

When Ford finally buys back my lemon explorer, I plan to ear-mark $2000 for accessorizing my new truck. I plan to make them mostly do-it-yourself (More stuff that way). Suggestions? (Please make sure to include brands and approximate prices too)

I've got some ideas, but I wanted to see what you guys came up with. Here are my only requirements... if it's steel, it's got to be stainless, and I work in Detroit (ok, it's Dearborn, but close enough) so anything that goes on needs to be reasonably theft-resistant. Also, keep in mind that this will be my daily driver, as well as an occasional trip to the snad dunes and mild trail riding.

Thanks for the tips.

-Joe-

I gotta say nay on the tech stocks... they're overvalued, IMHO. That's an option I hadn't thought of, though...

Carl, what are the ICI bars and where can I find more info on them?

Dutchy, same questions about the Advance Cover?...

Go with a bedcover, I'm partial to the Retrax. Improved my gas mileage and it's lockable so I can leave my gear in the back, safe and dry. Then buy a cool antennae. Then blow the rest on Medical Device company stock.

I really like the idea of a superchip, but I'm not liking the hi-test prices right now... I drive about 25000 miles a year, and that's a REALLY big chunk of change on gas! If I get a beater car for a commuter, I might think about it though...

The suggestion about stocks has really got me thinking, though....
